Last year we were unable to gather in person for Easter because COVID-19 drove us all into strict quarantine. A year later, we are still dealing with the threat of the virus, though I am grateful for the progress that has been made and the ability to gather together in person this year. As our leaders discussed the best way to do so, we all agreed that our desire would be to (safely) get as much of the Immanuel family together in one place as possible. The best way we can see to do this is by gathering outdoors. So this year, the plan for our Easter worship celebration is to gather from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the parking lot outside of Davis Chapel.
Outside there is ample room for us to spread out, while also allowing us to all be together. Additionally, we will be providing childcare beginning at 8:45 a.m. for children 3 and under. During the service, we will dismiss 4-8 year olds after song worship to go inside and participate in an interactive Easter storytime with Heather, our Kids Director. All kids need to be registered before the service begins, and to aid in this we will have registration set up outside near the Immanuel Kids entrance.
Because worship will be earlier than normal, we know that you might need some caffeine to get you going. We will have someone serving coffee to get you juiced up and ready to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord! I want to encourage you to plan on arriving early to get parked, get kids checked in, grab a cup of coffee, and find a chair. I also want to encourage every single one of you to invite someone to come with you.
This Easter, like never before, let’s exult in the hope of our Risen King.

Help with Easter Outdoors
We will need about 10-12 volunteers to help make our outdoor service happen. We will need 5-6 people to help before the worship gathering with setup and parking at 8:00 a.m. and we’ll need another 5-6 people to help after the worship gathering for about 30 minutes to put away chairs and other equipment.
