At Immanuel, interns are a vital component of our ministry team. Interns get “hands-on” experience by serving-in and leading various aspects of ministry, and by providing valuable support for our pastors, deacons, and staff.
Provide assistance and get hands experience in the various aspects of pastoral ministry.
This internship will uniquely involve being mentored and discipled by a staff pastor and will include reading assignments.
Do research for upcoming sermons/series
Write and/or edit blogs and sermon-based discussion questions
Participate in sermon preparation think-tanks and discussions
Teach and/or preach
Participate in elder meetings and staff meetings
Participate in liturgy planning
Observe and provide support support in situations of pastoral care, counseling, and coaching situations
Immanuel Kids Internship
Work alongside our Children’s Director to provide operational and ministry support
Assist in other areas as needed
Process volunteer applications and background checks
Assist with writing and distribution of Immanuel Kids newsletter
Maintain supplies and inventory lists in Immanuel Kids (snacks, water, sign-in sheets, materials, printer labels, tissues, etc)
Assist with set-up for Immanuel Kids area for Sunday mornings
Fill in for Sunday coordinator role when needed
Teach Bible lessons in various Immanuel Kids settings
Work alongside our Administrative Assistant to provide administrative, operational, and ministry support
Help with church-wide communication (emails, social media, etc)
Create graphics for social media postings, upcoming events, announcements, etc
Help maintain inventory for office/church supplies
Assist pastoral staff with programing church-wide events and local outreach efforts
Help facilitate partnerships with other churches and volunteer teams
Plan and organize local missions opportunities
A/V & Tech Internship
Work alongside worship team and A/V and tech teams to provide support and content
Help on Sundays with running sound and ProPresenter (candidate would preferably have a general knowledge of equalizing sound through a sound board)
Assist worship team in Sunday set up, entering information from liturgy planning into Planning Center Online, assist staff in non-worship service events at the church that require A/V to be set up.
Create, edit, and implement graphics, videos, and other multimedia projects
Assist with concept, development and execution (pre-production, production, and post-production) of video content to support church communications
Help the administrative team with graphics for church social media accounts, newsletters, and website
Work alongside pastoral and elder teams to implement new ideas of digitally communicating and capturing member testimonies
