What causes you to fear? What keeps you up with anxiety? How does that fear typically manifest itself in your life?
Have you ever had an experience where you
realized that you are unable to manage your own life; where you realized you are not in control?
We often refer to Jesus as our King and in our worship gatherings we have affirmed that he can take better care of us that we can of ourselves. What areas of your life do you need to trust to Jesus to rule over?
We pray confessing the things that cause us to fear, the things that drive our anxiety. We confess that at times we fail to trust in the promises of God to care for us. We thank him for his kindness and mercy and ask for the Spirit to continually drive us to Jesus with our fears and concerns.
"Sovereign Over Us"
Do you feel like you can go to Jesus when you feel weak or do you feel the need to muster up enough faith to approach him?
Can you remember a time where Jesus met you in your weakness? Take a few moments and share these stories.
Jesus calms our storms and provides everything we need day in and day out. This is a word of great comfort. From the passage, what are some ways that Jesus provides for us?
Use Psalm 23 as a guide to pray.
We pray thanking Jesus for calming the storms in our lives; for caring for us as our good Shepard. We thank him for daily provision.
Austin Stone Worship
What do you believe to be most powerful, the storms of your life or Jesus? How does that belief manifest itself?
When was the last time Jesus inspired awe in your heart?
The passage instructs us to "look to each others interests." Elsewhere in scripture we are encouraged to stir one another up to good works. What are some ways we can point each other to Christ throughout the week? How can we, together look to and be in awe of Jesus?
We praise Jesus as our good King. We confess his sovereignty over our lives and trust that he is teaching us and caring for us even in the storms. We ask for the Spirit to strengthen our faith and move our hearts to be in awe of our Savior.
